Strava Cycle Ride – Batley Road Circuit 2nd June 2016
I am like the queen my birthday celebrations go on for ever!
I don’t normally celebrate like this or celebrate at all, it’s just because it’s a bit of a big one this time.
It started a few weeks ago when I received a fantastic surprise from my family in the way of a new bike!! Yippeeeee!! It’s fabulous. They presented it to me early as I needed to get used to it so I could use it on lasts weekends #Coast2Coast ride.

Then, following the first outing on my new steed and the complaining I did about the saddle, I received a wonderfully generous gift of a new saddle from I hope I can call a friend, Sileas who ‘reads my blog’ (yes there is SOMEONE that reads it!!) and has also offered invaluable advice regarding cycling.

But it didn’t end there… next my family presented with a new helmet and water bottles (apparently the blue bottles and cages I had didn’t match my new bike and my ‘old’ helmet just didn’t make the grade!)

…….And now this weekend I am being treated to two of my loves …. Camping & Seaside !!!!
I am going to explode with excitement!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a birthday my loved ones are giving me.
BUT !!!! and this is a massive BUT!!!!!!!
….to enjoy my birthday weekend…. There is a catch! There would be wouldn’t there!!!
….. I HAVE TO CYCLE TO IT…….
No problem, it’s only 86 miles Aaarrghhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The plan is I cycle as far as I can and when I have had enough or it’s too dark someone will come and pick me up. So I don’t have to ride all the way but I would like to think I can give it a good crack. Jay will be cycling with me (all the way I hope!!)
Route
Wakefield – Bradford – Keighley – Skipton – Settle – Ingleton – Kirkby Lonsdale – Crooklands – Grange-over-Sands
A650 – A65 – A590 (and where it says 2hr 43 mins… that’s by car!)

Another Birthday Treat
I am being taken out tonight (don’t know where but I love surprises!) for another treat. Think it maybe to load up with carbs for tomorrow!
Until next time, somewhere along the road to fitness
Keep safe and smile
